Steve Cobbs is the Managing Director of Self-Storage at North Palisade Partners, overseeing the acquisition, development, and management of the company’s growing self-storage portfolio. With a career spanning nearly three decades, Steve has played a pivotal role in driving success in the self-storage sector, leveraging his expertise in investment strategy, asset management, and market analysis.
Prior to joining North Palisade Partners, Steve led Invesco Real Estate’s self-storage platform as Director and sector lead. During his tenure, Steve was instrumental in expanding Invesco’s self-storage portfolio from zero to 50,000 units across 60 properties, with a total value greater than $1 billion. His leadership ensured the company’s successful entry and sustained growth in this asset class. Steve also managed teams of acquisition officers, underwriters, and asset managers, while cultivating strong relationships with brokers and partners to secure both on- and off-market opportunities.
Steve’s extensive experience includes key roles at KBS Realty Advisors, where he closed $4 billion in acquisitions, as well as positions at First Guardian Group, Sun Microsystems, and Siebel Systems. His depth of knowledge in underwriting, finance, and operations has consistently positioned him as a trusted leader in the real estate sector.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of the Pacific and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a current Board Member of the California Self-Storage Association.
Outside of work, Steve resides in Irvine, California, with his family and enjoys staying active through backpacking, sailing, and other outdoor pursuits.
