John Petersen brings decades of experience in commercial property acquisition, development, and management to his role as a partner at North Palisade Partners.
John most recently served as interim president, CEO, and COO at PS Business Parks, where he was responsible for overseeing the overall strategic direction of the company and its real estate operations, including managing more than 150 field and staff employees. As COO for 15 years before assuming the interim president and CEO positions in March 2020, John led the company’s business initiatives and ensured operational excellence. He oversaw leasing and management of the company’s existing portfolio while managing acquisitions and dispositions, and pursuing creative development opportunities.
Prior to PS Business Parks, John served as a senior vice president for Equity Office Properties, in Silicon Valley. There, he was responsible for 11.3 million square feet of multi-tenant office, industrial, research, and development space. Before that, he was a senior vice president at Spieker Properties, overseeing the growth of the company’s San Jose portfolio through acquisition and development of nearly three million square feet.
John served as president of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks and was also president of the San Jose Silicon Valley Leadership Council along with having served on numerous nonprofit boards.
He is a graduate of The Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and resides with his wife and three children in Los Angeles, California.
